Blink-182 is Booked for Vegas! Party!
The Rolling Stone posted on their website today that the pop punk band Blink-182 have caught a deal with The Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas for a 16 date residency this summer. It would be a good time to relive teenage angst and go see them perform. Blink 182 started in 1992 with original members being Mark Hoppus, Travis Barker, Tom DeLonge. This band is known for being one of the godfathers of the pop punk genre and they have sold over 50 million records worldwide, with 13 million being sold in the U.S. They are best known for songs like All the Small Things, I Miss You, and Adam's Song. This band is unique in that it paved the way for pop punk and inspired a lot of future pop punk bands like Five Seconds of Summer. The band has nice, relatable lyrics and always a lot of electric guitar. Sadly, the band and a rough fall out and break up in 2005. From what I have researched about the breakup, it is a lot of he said she said in that Tom felt the band wasn't progressing or maturing and the other members distanced themselves from him. Mark and Travis even wanted Tom to write an album with him in 2014 but nothing happened with all of them collectively. Strange. I liked Tom being in the band because his voice really was unique and it feels off to me just hearing only Mark sing. However, the band reformed with Mark, Travis, and new back up singer Matt Skiba in 2009 and are running strong with a recently new album and now these Vegas shows. (My favorite song is this one What's my Age Again? and this is another good one Feeling This)
(Former band pic when Tom, the guy in the middle, was a part of the band. I am still salty that he is not performing with them anymore case he was my favorite. It makes me sad :( Travis, Tom, Mark)
It is cool that they will be preforming in Vegas. I don't know all of their music but I have heard some of their songs and they are pretty good. I never knew they broke up and now have a new member, that is kind of sad but that is just how the business works.
